Default Oil pan paint

Just bead blasted 29 oil pan, Henry painted the inside I think. Should it be? And if so, with what? I know that the oil should protect it from rust but it doesn't appear to have done so. What do you guys do? Thanks

Bare metal. You could treat it with a Phosphoric acid etch, as it leaves a rust resistant finish that will resist rust and never peel.

I paint the inside of the pan and the dipper tray with DP-90 primer and DCC 9000 top coat. And I don't fear it coming off.
