and I'll throw this out there.......it could be an issue with the cam gasket not sealing properly!

Ask me how I know!

But.......I would get a new tube first, set the main and see what happens.

Eric, do check the axial clearance and the cleanliness of the oil return channel. Set the end play to max. 0,05 mm. otherwise your bearing ‘sideleaks’ will overflow the oil return capacity. Remember natural pressure being built up in the bearing sue to hydrodynamic forces.
Don’t bet on the oil return pipe alone ! I have seen Model A’s running without it and not leaking at all. Remember the oil pressure equals the air pressure above it, so the pipe really has no function. Unless of course you would have extreme pressure fluctuations, which is probably not the case.

And....when screwing a drain pipe into the rear main bearing cap, do not screw it in too far - it will stick up in the drain channel and prevent oil from draining through the tube....making the leak worse.

I just got thru taking a B out of A....because the cam end gasket was IMPROPERLY installed...causing a BAD oil leak.
Make certain that you install this IMPORTANT gasket.
Good luck !!

A tube from an US supplier costs only a few dollars. But I have to pay 50 dollars for shipping, plus 7% import tax, plus 20% VAT. So If I need others things, it's better to think about them before ordering. I only work on my car on wednesdays. I will check tomorrow all the advice you gave me.

Thank you very much everyone ! I'll keep you informed.

Is the shipping $50 from England?

Here is a company in England that has that part.

Germany must have parts dealers too.

Germany made Model A based cars for many years after 1931.

Remember that the drain pipe was made in 5/16ths and 3/8ths sizes. WOULD BE TOO BAD TO ORDER WRONG SIZE DRAIN TUBE.

Another in England:
