Are all cars female
Cars are usually referred to as "she"....."she's a good runner"...."she cost a pretty penny"....."she's cheap to run".... "she's a bitch to start on a cold morning"
"that car's a real m-------r f--------ker pile of junk" Why are they of the female gender and not male? Is it because we usually care for them and see them as as illicit lovers or we see them as wives that don't answer back too often ? |

Re: Are all cars female
Maybe its because, as men, we have a love/hate relationship with them...

Re: Are all cars female
My cars, I suppose, have a confused sexual state--to me, they're all "its"--like it runs well...it has a problem.. etc.

Re: Are all cars female
The same car can be both depending on the circumstances. When things go wrong it can either be a f*#k'n B or a sonna of a B sometimes within minutes if the problem is bad enough.

I'd never assigned a gender to a vehicle. I have also never given one a name nor carried a picture of one in my wallet. As much as I enjoy these cars and as much as they have been a huge part of my life experience, they are NOT flesh and blood (no gender) and they are NOT my children (no name, no photos in my wallet)...

Re: Are all cars female
The cars are always in need of attention, constantly losing fluids (ewww), and never as warmed up as we'd like. Must be female. Just kidding ladies, we all know it's the owners that are really the b!*@#y ones...

Re: Are all cars female
I never refer to vehicles or airplanes or ships
with the feminine third person personal pronoun "She". I have never named any vehicle I have owned. |

Re: Are all cars female
They are "she's" because they deliver pleasure and pain in equal parts! I base my belief on 59 years of marriage (to the same "she").

Re: Are all cars female
It came from the Romans.
Boats, airplanes and, used to be, Hurricanes. Cars /trucks can be either or neuter like "That pile" My pickup is named for my Uncle who taught me everything about mechanicing. My other cars are ladies out of respect, understanding, treatment, and looks and desirability. |

Re: Are all cars female
I tend to be gender neutral with the cars. "The Coupe", "The roadster", "Old Rusty", "The Truck", "The T-Bird". When a friend was talking about his roadster and said something like "She's running a bit rich" It sounded odd to me. I'm an engineer and see them as machines, an "it" rather than a "she". I'm not completely cold, though, I can be heard to mutter "Good old car!" in one of my startup videos.

Re: Are all cars female
Usually when I kick my car when it refuses to start I refer to it as a useless b--------d
as in lacking parents. Then ,like Mart I settle down and do something spectactularly creative |

Re: Are all cars female
Some are....:roll eyes:
Ford Motor Company has added a news release to its Investor Relations website. Title: Ford Focus Earns Top Safety Rating from NHTSA Date(s): 11/23/2012 12:07 AM For a complete listing of our news releases, please click here The New 2013.... Renault and Ford have joined forces to create the perfect small car for women. Mixing the Renault 'Clio' and the Ford 'Taurus' they have designed the 'Clitaurus'. It comes in pink, and the average male car thief won't be able to find it - let alone turn it on - even if someone tells him where it is and how to do it. Rumor has it though, that it leaks transmission fluid once a month, and can be a real bitch to start in the morning! ** Some have reported that on cold winter mornings, when you really need it, you can't get it to turn over. New models are initially fun to own, but very costly to maintain, and horribly expensive to get rid of. ** Used models may initially appear to have curb appeal and a low price, but eventually have an increased appetite for fuel, and the curb weight typically increases with age. Manufacturers are baffled as to how the size of the trunk increases, but say that the paint may just make it LOOK bigger. This model is not expected to reach collector status. Most owners find it is best to lease one, and replace when it becomes troublesome. * *

Re: Are all cars female
Not all are female. My cars are gender neutral or no names. My daughter had a 95 Ford Taurus she named "Bob". I asked her why and she said" because it looks like a Bob to me" All her other cars she's had are female. Go figure.........

Re: Are all cars female
Last fall, I bought a '53 Jubilee Ford farm tractor and my 11 yr old grandson went with me to pick it up. As soon as he saw it, he named it "Bull Nose Bill", although I'm not sure why!
