Default Need advice on replacement hubs and drums

Does anyone have first hand experience with the bendix style front brakes from Speedway for a '40 Ford? I see they're a dealer for MT Products but their lower prices make me wonder if they might be knock offs. I called them today and one representative said they had several suppliers and another said they were MT.
I'm replacing what I believe to be some foreign junk drums that are way out of balance.
I would like to go back to the '40 style inside hubs and some quality drums.

Get them from someone who will tell you, "They're from MT!"

I have the Speedway front drums on my 32 with Lincoln brakes. They are great.

I bought front and rear MT Brakes from Cornhuskers and they look like this. They fit and work fine. Notice the drums are cast with the MT LOGO. Call Gary at Cornhusker's and get his price. It's not a fancy website but he's honest.

Also, give MT a call to see if Speedway is selling their stuff. http://www.mtcarproducts.com/Brakes.html

I received a call back from MT this morning and the answer directly from the horses mouth is Speedway sells MT backing plates but not their hubs and drums.
I'm not making any judgement on Speedway's hubs and drums, just saying they're not from MT. I would be interested to hear from any others with experience with their hubs and drums.

For piece of mind buy all MT products from one vendor and be done with it.

I have had good luck buying fro MT directly. I call on phone to order. He is very prompt and prices are as good as vendors. I got one hub that was out of balance. He sent me a new one immediately and paid shipping back for return.
He has a web site.

Considering the cost, I go with disc on the front and just rebuild the stock rear.

19Fordy,

Thanks for the tip on Cornhuskers. Gary was very helpful and his price was good.

Even better is disc on front and MT on the rear. That is what I went with for my 36 woodie. Disc are not more expensive than MT but you need squareback spindles.
