Default Front Bumper Braces

I found a pair of front bumper braces at a swap meet but now discover that there were two sizes for the Model-A. Bratton's catalog says that the "extended length" of the brace is 15.75 inches for 1928-29 and 14.5 inches for 1930-31 models but it isn't clear if that dimension is measured as total of the front to back edge or it is measured as the front edge to the center of rear mounting hole. Anybody have an idea about this? Thanks much!

I measured 14.5 “ from the rear mounting bolt center at the frame to the back side of the bumper on my 30 Tudor.
