28-29 rear window panel
Hi, im new to the forum and model A's. I just purchased a 28 special coupe. It originally had a wood rear window frame covered in leather. It no longer has any of that left. Im looking at putting a steel panel in its place. Does anyone on this forum have and rear window panels for sale? Any panel from a coupe or sedan will work fine. Any information would be greatly appreciated
Thanks |

Re: 28-29 rear window panel
Converting a Special Coupe that had the semi soft top would require all the upper body panels from a Standard Coupe. It's not easy to find the parts to restore either one but they are likely out there somewhere. The Special Coupe had metal panels around the upper body that were covered with padded faux leather but it had more wood to attach the panels to. The lower body is very similar to the Sport and Business Coupes. They looked like a Standard Coupe with a vinyl top except there was no vinyl in the late 20s. It was all pyroxylin coated cloth with a leather like grain back then. They were very unique bodies and looked really nice when in good condition.
Welcome to the barn. |
