door/roll-up window seal

Would someone please tell me what is used as an outside seal between the bottom edge of the door opening and the roll-up glass. I can't find any information in my restoration books or in the suppliers' catalogs. The car is a 1930 coupe.

It's not, make sure the drain holes on the bottom of the door are not plugged so the rain will flow on through

i asked myself the same question two or three weeks ago. no, there are no seals, the water will drop down into the door and then out through the holes in the bottom. My inside of the doors is rusty (Fordor) so we will be dry-ice cleaning the inside and then cover the metal with some rubber-type material to prevent any oxygen to get to the surface again.


My question is: do i have to do the same process with the area behind the doors? so, by the side of the rear passenger seats und the window that's behind the doors (it's a three window Fordor). From FordBarns experience, does that rust just like the inside of the doors?

I’ve seen both the skin and inner liner rust out. The problem with the outer skin is that it is hemmed at the bottom and tends to hold moisture and dirt more than inner.

A fordor does have seals at the window bottoms that can be had from vendors if the covid hasn't messed up that chain. A lip seal is available to fit the lower glass channel and seals when the window is rolled up.

i have searched on snyders and others websites but couldn't find anything, i would appreciate if you could send me a link to the product!?

I find the Fordor upper door seals in Snyder's catalog as part #s A-19008-4DF & A-19008-4DR. A lower glass channel rubber with a lip, although not original, can be gotten from Steel Rubber.

Try Snyders # A-3401-SW
they call it glass bedding with lip, I think that its more of a draft seal than water seal but might help.
Im sure others carry it as well

The seal for the coupe is listed by Snyder's as 19008-a, 19008-b.

Those are inside seals, I think he's lookin for something to keep the rain out
