If anyone has a parts list for a stock build Burtz, I'm interested.

You need a parts engine or you will have to buy a lot of cast iron, like the flywheel housing, and sheet metal, like the pan. Use new parts internally: Pistons, rings, valves, valve springs, lifters, keepers, etc. You can use an old oil pump but enlarge the ports per Terry's instructions. Use the new cam from Terry. You will need both new camshaft gears, keys, seals, gaskets, etc. Buy a gasket set. You need a stock head if you are going to use that or a new high compression head. You will need to use the manifolds, distributor, carburetor from the donner engine. You also need the gear that runs off the camshaft and drives the oil pump and distributor from the old engine, or buy a new one if the old one is worn. You will need the distributor drive shaft. You will need the flywheel and clutch assembly off the donner engine or buy the V8 components. You can reuse a lot of the studs and bolts but it is recommended to use new head studs. You will also need a water pump. The instructions recommend new bolts for the flywheel. Check to make sure the bolt heads do not interfere with the clutch disk. Plus a new throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Plus all the small stuff like covers, coolant inlet and outlet. The donner engine really helps. Or it helps to have a scrap pile in back of the barn. I was working on a spreadsheet for what new parts would cost. I should update it with part numbers. I figured if I was going to spend that much on an engine I'd use all new nuts and bolts, etc. I was also going to source the other (manifolds, covers, sheet metal parts, etc) parts from swap meets. Leaving my old engine in a more sellable running condition and my replacement having all new or fresh rebuilt parts.

Thank You! I'm interested in any updates. What surprised me, they charge taxes now. I guess it's been awhile since I bought on-line.
I thought I saw they were offering a completed engine for just over 10K, but I don't see that ad any longer. Just as nkaminar noted: A donor engine is needed

I've read that Terry Burtz used an April 1929 engine for his project. That you should leave the oil baffles in the oil pan as they are -- even tho it's an oil pressure engine.

I buy a lot of parts from Steve at Berts Model A Store and I asked him if he would be available to build a motor for me using the Burtz motor, etc. He said yes at a later date. I know they build regular motors.

Laws changed - .gov was missing out on a lot of money from online sellers who only charged tax to people they shipped to in their own state. I'm going to have mine shipped to a friend in Oregon - they have no state sales tax. Then I'll just slip across the border some night and smuggle it back into CA. It'll save me over $500.

Thanks for the heads up. I recently met Leonard in So Cal and he is building two motors for me and my friend soon. It would save me some Cal tax money.
