Flathead v8 cooling
New to this forum.
I have a 36 Ford 5 Window with a 51 Mercury Flathead in it. I do not know the history of the car as the previous owner passed away. The motor has Navarro Heads, Navarro Intake, 3 Strombergs, MSD Coil and Ignition, Fenton Headers and a fairly radical cam (do not know the lift/duration). Temp gauge does not work. I used an infrared gun to measure temps after a good warmup. Temp at the thermostat locations were 155/156, and at the bottom radiator hoses 144/145. Am new to flatheads, is it possible there is no thermostats in the vehicle. It runs great and no puking after a good run. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Flathead v8 cooling
You need to ask on the Early V8 section or https://www.jalopyjournal.com/. This section is not for car questions, its for issues using the site. Jalopy Journal might be a better fit.
