Model b zenith float spring
Does anyone have a picture or instructions on how to install the float assist spring on the number two style zenith model b carb? I am running a fuel pump on my speedster with duel model bs . The fuel pressure is set at two pounds. The carbs have started to drip gas out the over flow. The b carb have the rectangle (number two style) float with surge baffle. I have the book " The Rex Rehirs Way " . It shows a picture of the float and surge baffle , but not the spring installed . Any input would be helpful. Thanks Miff

Re: Model b zenith float spring
Go to Vince Falters Ford Garage, he has some assembly pictures for the B carb, it shows the spring in a side view, it will help.

Re: Model b zenith float spring
If you have the spring it should be easy to figure out, I found this hand drawn picture, person unknown, maybe this will help.

Re: Model b zenith float spring
Thanks I figured it out. the hook side of the spring fits around the float post. The straight side of the spring goes between the float and the baffel . Putting light pressure on the float that pushes on the shut off . Thanks for the follow up . Miff

Renners, I have heard that too. My (gravity fed) B carb does not have the slosh baffle either.
