Default How to secure Optima battery

Anyone come up with a simple way to secure an Optima battery in the stock battery holder ? I wrapped a strap around battery and lower plate of the holder but it still wiggles around enough I am afraid the hot cable connector could make contact with the frame.

Look at what the vendors sell and make your own.

I've made a couple hold downs for the Optima. Took an old brake rod & bent it into a squared "Z" . The center section goes across the center of the battery, well away from the posts & the ends have a nut , larger than the hold down corner nuts, welded on to slip over the hold down bolts. Small pieces of angle iron ,about 1 1/2"- 2", are welded to the rod on both sides & rest on the edges of the battery. The battery is mounted on about a 45* angle to the battery box. Clean & simple with no chance of shorting out on posts & cable clamps.

Why not just use what the vendors sell?
Snyders part #A-5163-X
Mike's part #A5166OP
Bratton's part #6881

When I was working on my 1928 all of the vendors I checked with were backordered. I decided to make my own rather then wait.
