So I have cork gaskets from a reliable vendor but trying to put the cork in the reflector isn't working. Anyone have a suggestion on a lubricate (water, oil, ?) to apply to the cork so they'll slip and stay in the reflector groove? Thanks

Mine are original silver and never been replated since 1964 since I owned it.
Still look like new!

Elaborate on what is not working. If it is too loose you can crimp the outer edge some

MikeK, I did not know that.

1Crosscut, good to have options.

Thanks to both of you.

JFranklin: the cork is too thick and will not press into the opening. I have rubber seals in them now but noticed the rubber is dry and broken in a couple of places. I was thinking soaking the cork in oil to soften them, like you do with the cork used with the rear main and oil pan. Any thought? LRF

Is the cork square cut or rectangular? I would soak if I had to in hot water. You might ask the vendor if what you have is correct.

Thanks, JFrankin, now that I look at them, they are rectangular so problem solved. LRF
