272 oil pressure switch
Hi everyone, what port do I put an oil pressure gauge fitting into? Is it the Allen plug behind the oil filter, or in front of it? Or is it the one near the draft tube filter? Thanks again!

Re: 272 oil pressure switch
put it where you like but its usually between the filter and road draft tube.

Re: 272 oil pressure switch
You can use any of the ports along the side of the block

It's a '55 292 block with 5752-113 heads from '58 and intake from '57, built for my '55 T-Bird. To replace the '54 Merc 256 some 'clown' had put in. Found it in Phoenix Arizona, just removed from a '57 T-Bird for pretending to be a 312. Last edited by dmsfrr; 04-21-2021 at 10:43 AM. |

After 6+ years of it sitting in the garage (until '19) I got tired of only working on it... so I got it driveable but there is still a long to-do list. My wife wanted a yellow car and we picked up a '57 Bird that I promptly tore apart (bad oil pressure and needs a re-paint) so I'm getting even farther behind. With the virus shutdowns this past year and wife not being well I've lost some motivation and need to get it all going again. |

Re: 272 oil pressure switch
I have a 57 292, but it's not in a T-Bird. Ya think I have those same ports on my block for an oil pressure fitting? Have a (unused tube style) gage, and it would be cool to have the light and the gage.
