Flea Market stickers should arrive this week, listing a lot of junk to help fund the trip, what are you doing? Bob

Wow, i am 52 and been a registered voter since I was 18, I have never been drawn for Jury Duty. I have a friend who seems to get picked every couple of years, alternating between Grand Jury and Trial Jury. She has set on a couple of trials too.

Received my stickers today. Will be at C2A 67-69 with Model A stuff and some Sun test equipment. Will be demonstrating the 12 to 6 volt dropping resistor in a Model A horn.
Stop by and say hello.

O.K. New to owing a Model A, have been to Carlisle one time.
How is Hershey different? Would it be worth the trip from Kentucky to find stuff?
Seriously...I've never been...

Skrain,

Hershey is much much larger-many A parts. Carlisle generally does not have nearly as much early stuff. C can be walked in an afternoon and H takes 2 days at a minimum.

Hershey is the Mecca for anyone interested in old cars. Carlisle only compares geographically, but everything is at Hershey. You'll need every bit of time to cover the ground and then some. Vehicles, parts, stuff, people -some things to keep in mind:
1. It's PA in October-wear layers, wear comfortable shoes, bring water, bring a rain suit-it ALWAYS rains at some point.
2. Admission is free, parking is pretty reasonable, especially if you carpool.
3. Staying close will be difficult-try Harrisburg or Lancaster for motels
4. Saturdays, the vendors pretty much close up, because everyone wants to see the car show/judged cars. So do your shopping earlier in the week-don't worry, there are tons of cars to see just around the grounds.
5. It's a lot of walking-all paved now-back in the day, the bargains were in the muddy fields.- I'm bringing a pedometer this year but I've measured 11 miles+ walking at Carlisle so I'm figuring maybe 16-18 at Hershey?
6. If you're shopping for big stuff, bring a cart, though there are Boy Scouts, etc who will haul stuff for you for a fee-but they're never around when you need them.
7. Food is available-but just so so-pack a lunch,or at least a snack.
8. Lots of restrooms-almost all have attendants-even the portapotties.that keeps them pretty acceptable, but please bring money to tip the staff. Not a great job, even a quarter goes a long way to help. Ticks me off to see someone carrying all kinds of swag and then be too cheap to leave a tip.
9. Bring your lists and lots of money-there's stuff there you didn;t even know you needed.

Thanks for the input. I'll count my pennies (HA!) and see what it looks like mid October...
I'd go mid-week anyway. Maybe traffic won't be quite as nuts!

My flea market spots are C4J 41-42, all ford Barn members can leave parts at my spot for day storage, saves a useless trip to your car/truck in the middle of "Buying Time". Someone mentioned passing on the "Car Corrall" during the day, great tip, parts shop in the daytime, check out the cars for sale in the evening after dinner, the area is fully lighted all nignt long. Traffic at Hershey the last few years has been ridiculas, you would think by now they could get it right! Don't think going mid week will be less hectic, tens of thousands of people attend, I leave Frederick about 4 am (1.5 hour drive)to miss the gridlock in the AM, usually easier to get out than in. I always come home sunburnt!

I love Hershey. Everything for everyone and then some. I stay at Highmeadow Campground in my car trailer's loft. $160 for the whole week is a bargain and I don't get the electrical hook up and stuff.

Walking? Oh yeah, and lots of it. Look sharp, try to avoid the "bling-bling", don't be afraid to dig through the "dollar" crates and boxes. Ya never know! A very good friend of mine bought a whole box of $1.00 stuff. Sold the old Auburn carb that was in there for $400 later that day.

Highmeadows camp ground I think the best no hookup site is down along the creek.
You don't have to listed to the Choo Choo all night long.

Tuesday IS the day when all the deals are made, please stop by and say hello. I always enjoy seeing the flags of all the different countries in back packs as they go by. Bob
