"Ruby", my 1939 Ford, is running perfect once again. Jim, at Bubba's Hot Rod Shop found that my condenser was almost shot and fixed me up with one of his Vertex condensers. Just in time to take a 150 mile tour through the Lexington, KY horse country with the Early Ford V8 club, Louisville, KY., tomorrow.

Thank you, everyone, for all your help.

No i have a friend that does race car magnetos and he has these made a few thousand at a time. I have never seen a bad one ...We get $32 each for these as they are costly to have made...
They are .36 mfds very close to the actual needs of the helmet distributor...

Bubba,
On an 8BA distributor, will mounting the condensor on the coil cause any problem with wire length?? If I mount the cap on the coil stud, to ground it is a good environment. I know wiring adds capacitance, but it seems OK in this case.
What's your call??

The condensor needs to be as close to the distributor as possible. However these seems to work anywhere from the distributor to the fender well mounted coils... In most cases adding a little capacitance helps the circuit...
