Default Taillight lens

Photo shows the left taillight and lens that came with my car. I am not a fan of the blue dot, so wish to acquire a plain red lens. I got one from one of our reputable suppliers only to discover that it doesn't fit. I believe the problem is that my light is not for a model A, although it fits perfectly to the taillight bracket. What might this light fit so I can order the correct red lens?

You might end up buying another light.

I will need a pair, since the other light is a twin, but without the blue dot.

Your taillight looks to be from a '32 Ford.

This doesn't look like a Model A taillight lens. It's possible that the underlying light bucket is the same as a Model A and only the lens and outer retainer are different. Would help to pull the lens off and take a picture of the interior to see if it looks like a proper Model A light. Otherwise, as Patrick suggests, new lights are in your future. You could use this opportunity to upgrade to the LED taillight lens, those are so much brighter and safer that I'm surprised more folks haven't converted (says the guy who intended to convert a couple of years ago but just did so...). See https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...d=976567&cat=0 and https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...d=976577&cat=0.

If the light still uses 2 bulbs, it could be 1932. If one bulb, 33-36. From the picture, rim & lens are not Model A. Don't believe any parts are interchangeable.

Also, Model A light bucket will have "raised" DUOLAMP at top of light while later units have same to rear of license plate lens opening on bottom of bucket.

From comments and subsequent research, I'll guess it is the mid 30s. It only has one bulb--an 1157 which is a 12v bulb--in my 6v system. Time to spend some more $$

What you have is worth $$ , helping you offset your new LED taillights!
