Default B/W o/d vs 3 speed lengths

My 65 Montclair has the o/d and it will need to come out to be repaired so I would like to stick a regular 3 speed in so I can still drive it so are the two trans the same length, the trans will most likely be coming out of a 68 Country Sedan.

Ford usually made a long tail housing with the same rear mount in particular model year ranges to interchange between standard shift and OD transmissions but it would likely have to match the same engine application. Is the overdrive transmission in question a Borg Warner T85 with R11 overdrive? Also, what engine application are you working with. Parts are available for the transmissions and it may be less trouble and expense to repair what you have than to swap it out.
