Default locking hubcaps

How do I tell the difference between the 1934, 1935, 1936 locking hubcaps????....There should be some distinguishing characteristics.....

Tony the 34 and 35 are very similar , only difference is the shape of the oval ford key hole cover.the 35 has an even gap around the oval while the 34 is uneven shape around the outside of the oval. The 36 cover is completely different with the stainless cover being hinged to open up to show the keyhole underneath. I can post pics tomorrow night if required if somebody doesn't beat me to it. Dan.

Left is 33 , center is 34 & right is 35 . The oval difference is plain to see between 34-35 . Also the 35 type is passenger if the strap provision is straight down . Pickup ones have the strap at an angle . The cover for 36 is a different bird and is not like these . Wide 5 wheels on 36's .The post above gives a good description so izza otta hear .

As far as I know there was no "master key" for Ford (HURD) locks. Very few 32-35 locking hub caps had a visible key code. If it did, it was on the rear of the lock cylinder on the small cap that held the 3 locking fingers in place. If your cap is off the wheel and has the number you can get a key cut to that code. If there is no code present, the lock cylinder can be re-pinned and a new key cut. If you have any questions or I can be of further assistance give me a call @ 845 457 3546 Phil

OK now I know that my "34" locking hubcap is actually a 35, what does a 33 B locking hub cap look like? Was it an option?

Now fellas, talking of locking hubcaps does anyone have a trade secret for re "rolling" or fitting the outer edge of the stainless cover back onto the cast center?
Thanks in advance,
Gary

mvee33, as far as I am aware the 33 B locking cap is the same appearance as your hubcaps and will have Ford in the centre and not V8. All the locking caps will have Ford logo in the centre. I have one I can take a photo of if you require. Dan

The 32 4 cyl has a V8 in an oval impressed in the center of a circular lock cover the 33 4 cyl was a carry over for 32. 34 4 cyl and V8 used the same oval cap lock cover with Ford script impressed.

1932 "B" & V8 caps shared the same "body" just the movable covers were different. The V8 had a...V8.... (surprise !!) on the movable center. The "B" cap had a Ford script in an oval pressed into the cover. The 32 "B" & V8 caps had the smallest movable cover, smaller than the 33 style. I know of no unique 33 or 34 4cyl. caps. I would think the 32 style was carried over from 1932.
