Howdy from Texas, new member building my first Model A
Hello from Texas everyone!
I have been working/building/driving all types of cars for many years, but this is my first Model A. It is a steep learning curve, but I decided to build a truck from the ground up. Here is what I am starting with.....Guess I need to start a "Build Thread?" The Ford Barn came highly recommended as a build resource, and I see why! Tons of great stuff on here. Cheers, Walter

Figure you'll be driving it in about a month...HA,HA...Great Start, keep us posted of the progress. Get a small notebook and write everything down as you do it, take lot's of pictures for before and after. There will be times that you feel like your going nowhere. That's when you look back at your notes and photos and realize how far you have come.

Welcome Walter,
Looks like a great place to start, ... Might want to turn the cab around though. Is that a bullet hole in her side? Regards Bill |

Yes, there are several Bullet holes. One went in from the back, then into the gas tank right beside the steering column, and finally dented the tank above the cowl. The bullet must still be in the tank. That's a tough way to get "leaded" gas!

Be aware that the pickup cabs are NOT very roomy. I am 6'4" and I don't fit in a pickup cab. If you are tall you might want to consider lengthening the cab a couple three inches or trade it for a roomier body style.

Indeed. Joining the Capitol City A's was the first thing I started with....and they are a great bunch of folks. Once someone found out I had never driven a Model A, they remedied that situation within minutes! Thanks Paul!
