Re: fuel push rod insert
I plug them with a press fit pin. This pin was for a 59a block, for an 8ba you would want to be sure the pin was long enough to cover the hole.

Re: fuel push rod insert
If I were making a bushing plug for an 8BA bushing (to accommodate electric fuel pump use ) I would not totally plug the oil supply hole in the bushing.
Leave the same push rod to bushing clearance on the lower end of the plug to allow the cam bearing to be lubricated as I believe Ford intended.

Re: fuel push rod insert
Is there no hole between the rear main and rear cam bearing for oil to push up ?

Re: fuel push rod insert
Quote:
The rear cam bearing looks to be lubricated by residual oil passing between the oil pump and the oil pump bore plus any splash or vapor that gets into the idler gear chamber. The rear cam bearing does not see any pressurized oil. The rear main is lubricated by a port from the oil pump to the bearing.
