Default 4 Square Holes in Model A Coupe Inner Door Panel - what for?

A gentleman just asked me what the 4 square holes and the corresponding center hole are for in this Model A Coupe door inner panel.

I don't know, so I came to you all. Is it for adjustment?

Isn’t it to receive the window regulator?

The regulators mounts in the three holes diagonal from the area I am referencing.

It holds the window track assembly that brings the glass up and down.

So, both sets of holes are for different regulators? For coupes?

The upper one is for the crank handle that has an arm on it. It attaches to a long wide bar that the glass sits in It in turn attaches to the crank arm. I'll send photos this afternoon.
I have a coupe in my shop with the doors completely opened up

Thanks.

All my doors (currently 4 of them in the shop) only had the 3-hole window crank/regulator assembly mounted in the holes diagonal from the circled area. My build has been so slow I'd never thought about the other square holes until I was asked.

I misspoke. The four holes are NOT used at all on a coupe. They are the same as a four door car. The four holes are where to door opening handle mount. Coupes are different.
This photo of the drivers on a sport coupe might help.
Ford may have used the same panels in different car doors

Ford put that feature there so we can easily pick out coupe doors at swap meets, auctions, dusty barns, and in past times junkyard door piles.
