Default flathead Ford 239 ci. Oil cannister

1949 8ba 239 ci. ford v 8. The oil cannister has three holes in it. Input, output and is the third hole for a drain? thanks

Oil goes in through the upper side , out through the bottom center and the angle bottom port is a drain to empty the canister when doing a oil change. Tim
