Re: Just another flat motor
Imagine what the tractor guy's say about purist old flathead cars!!!
I was at a rod meet in Indy one evening while at the "national" drag races about 20 years ago and there were many different cars to look at and as I was strolling through the parking lot we stumbled upon one of those patina perefect 1932 ford roadsters that come from a barn find all number matched just driven lots by original owner and put away for some fellow to drool over and would never touch a single thing as that was the way it was built. You can immagine the car.Well as we walked up to it to admire the what a nice find the car was something jumped out when the hood was left open on purpose there was a dirty nasty little Datsun engine in there complete with the Datsun rad and the owner was proud as punch to show it off!!!He said he threw away that flathead as it was old technology and 4 cyl ohv was the way to go.Used that engine as it was free."WTF" was he thinking.Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder. Man does that scoot down the road! I think top speed on my 9N is 14 mph.
Looks fun,

Re: Just another flat motor
Hot rodded tractor - "dbl" bigs (for added traction) and wire wheel littles, dual exhaust, good rear gears - I love it and want one! Of course with the amount of lawn I have and the speed it can go I would be done doing anything to my lawn in about 30 seconds ... ... well done!
