Anyone know the Woodruff key number or the size of the water pump shaft key?

Re: Water pump shaft Woodruff key
Thank you Bob.
I also found Number 3 but wasn't sure it was the right one. Your description is very thorough.

Re: Water pump shaft Woodruff key
Where did you find it? I looked in the Service Bulletins and Les Andrews book.
Probably just missed it.

Am I right is assuming the key should be a tight fit both horizontally and vertically? If you will look at the chart in the link, you will see that the tolerance of the width is 0.125 to 0.126. That would tell you that it is going to be a tight fit. The key can only go in depth (vertically) until the radius of the key hits the radius of the keyway. Therefore, cut the keyway per standard specifications. Last edited by Don Turley; 03-23-2016 at 03:58 PM. Reason: consolidate posts |
