Easy way to paint the tops of..
Your head studs. I think I read a long time ago that the tops of the engine studs were painted gloss black. If so..
I did not do that. Mine are still bare with all the nuts on and torqued, but here's what I did to make 'em look purdy.. Get some 1" wide sticky masking tape. Get a set of punches from Harbor Freight. Apply a strip of the tape to a clean wood board. Using the 7/16"" diameter punch, punch in several holes about 1" apart. Using an Exacto knife, cut the pieces in between the holes. Place each piece of the masking tape with holes over each stud. Press down to the top of the head nut, all the way around. Paint with a small brush. Let dry. Remove each piece of tape. Larry

as per JS 1-9 Head studs-either Raven or Unfinished-depends: as states Cars will be judged against the finishes set forth in the applicable Ford parts price list books for the year involved.
