1929 CCPU Rear Cab Mount
Looking for someone that might know what I'm looking at here. It seems on my frame that there are no holes for the rear of the cab to mount to the frame. I put the old sub-rail assembly back on the frame to verify that I had the new sub-rail assembly in the correct location, and everything forward seems to line up. It also seems the bed may be too long, but I'm not sure. I pretty much got this truck as a basket case. Any help is much appreciated.

Re: 1929 CCPU Rear Cab Mount
You have to drill your own holes .
This is what happened when the car/phaeton/roadster etc chassis came down the line and it was to be a pickup. Hand drilled thru subframe thru chassis. There were no pickup rear holes punched at chassis manufacture. |

I have heard the same thing as Pooch wrote. You must be using a passenger car frame instead of the frame that was originally with the pickup, as the 2 holes would have been factory drilled already. BTW, I have the same situation with my 29 CCPU - I am using a passenger car frame on it.

Re: 1929 CCPU Rear Cab Mount
Trying to find some info on where the rear cab mount holes should be. I need to figure out where these holes are supposed to be so I can ensure my new sub-rails are correctly configured and my cab isn't out of whack as I build it up. I've already look at www.wescottsauto.com and couldn't find what I was looking for. Anyone have an idea?

Came across this diagram of frame hole locations for 82-A and 82-B cabs.... Have not tested to make sure these measurements are accurate, but I have never come across anything yet that shows what your after. The second picture of a RPU is what I think you would need for lining up your subrails. |
