Default Florida - Big Winds A'Comin

All us Florida types are watching the potential track of Storm Ian vey closely. I am on the left edge of the cone and taking precautions and preparations very seriously. Any other folks in the cone ? We should have a few stories by Friday or so.

We're right in the middle of its projected path and its being said this could be the worst storm in area history. They are several different reports so we'll know more Friday.[smiley face]
It kinda figures, we just moved here permanently and spent the past 5 winters fixing up the place.

Pat - Wish you had a better welcome to Florida. Been through many hurricanes in the last 30 years and this one looks especially dangerous. The biggest danger is always storm surge and they are talking 10 feet at Tampa. We have evacuated in the past and found traffic to be bumper-to-bumper and very slow if delaying to leave too long. Good Luck and be safe.

Hide from the wind and run from the water! Be smart down there!

I think we are just far enough inland and high enough to not worry about surge. But we are expecting up to 15" of rain. The wind predictions are all over the place from 60 to 120. So, time will tell.

A friend just offered his place at the Zephrhills airport, so, there's that. But, we'll probably wait it out here. Thx for the thoughts.
