Default Kick Panel Placement

Hi,

Can someone please verify for me the placement of the top of the kick panels in a 31 Pickup 82B cab.

Does the kick panel go between the flange of the dash rail and the door post?
- in this case the finished edge of the kick panel would be visible part way up the seam between the dash rail and door post. (There is a long tail of the hem from the top of the kick panel that I do not know what to do with.)

- or -

Does the flange of the dash rail go between the kick panel and the door post as I currently have it in the following pictures
- in this case there is a little gap between the edge of the dash rail and the door post

Thanks,
Dave

The dash rail fastens to the door post. No gap.
The kick panel goes to the inside
The way you have it is correct

Can anyone supply the dimensions for the pocket shown in dlevy's first picture?
TIA, Ken

There should be a long piece of bead material dangling from the top of the sewn on bead to the panel. That long piece of bead is pushed in the space between the dash rail and the doorpost. This is for anti-squeak purposes. If there is excess bead, trim it. It does not go all the way over the top of the rail.

Do all, or which kick panels interchange for '30-'31. I have a '30 open pickup and wonder about the patterns. Thanks: Fred A

Thanks, I can figure out the dimensions from the placement measurements, shouldn't be hard to fabricate.

Thanks for the additional info, methinks I'll make 2, one for either side. Painting them body colour is a good idea. Is that the colour they were painted originally?
