Default HELP - Need help on Individual - ARIZONA

I have started to possibly purchase a model A from a Patrick Corn of an apparent address of W. Clara Lane in Peoria AZ. His phone is listed as 928-297-7324. Does any one in that area know this individual. With all the SCAMS going on I do not want to be put in the wrong positon with my hard earned money. Many thanks for any assistance on this Tom

There is a Peoria, AZ near Phoenix. Don't know about a guy named Corn. You may be able to check with the phone Co.. I.
I'd be very careful how and when I PAID. Get someone in the area to check it out for you. Contact the mafca.com for a club in the area. Even an other car club, at least car folks will know what they are looking at, Better safe than sorry.

I looked in the MAFCA Membership Roster and Patrick Corn is not listed as a member. Also he is not listed as a member on the MAFCA web site. He could be a member and opted out of having his name listed.

Here is a link to the MAFCA web site for the MAFCA chapters in Arizona.

Here is the info on the Phoenix Chapter

You may want to check with Sammy at Arizona model A. He is a supplier of model A parts and may know this guy.

Perhaps looking at the car in person or hiring someone local to represent your interest is in order, relying on folks on the internet to vouch for someone isnt the best course for a pleasant outcome

Tom,
When seeking help of this sort knowing ones location makes it easier for the Barn members to offer that help. I'm sure your potential purchase involves many thousands of dollars. If this Arizona seller is on the level, and the car meets your needs, you should drive or fly to finish the deal. There are several safe ways to covey thousands of dollars that don't involve carrying a sack full of 100's. Good luck.

There are several "Vehicle Inspection Services" available. For less than $300 they will check out the car and give you a written report with photos. If the seller isn't willing to cooperate with a pre-purchase inspection watch out. There are also companies that for a fee will escrow the purchase for you. A Google search will help you out.
Like 160B said, contact the local mafca chapter and maybe they have a local that would be willing to check the car out for you.
Sad it has gotten to this, but it keeps Judge Judy in business.

Do as Scottio 57 says. Between Sammy and his father, I doubt there would be anyone in Az who has even looked at a Model A who they don't know.

That 928 area code is for northern Arizona, not Phoenix and suburbs.

With cell phones today you can have an area code far from where you live. It’s called portability, move and keep you phone number. Only wired phones are tied to a specific area code.

True that, but if one suspects a potential scam, it's something to consider.

An online people search shows that there is no Patrick Corn in Arizona.

The search finds 36 people with that name in the country, but none living in Arizona according to the records. There are two Patricia Corn in AZ, one in Mesa and one in Tucson, but that doesn't help.

The phone number search comes up with an unlisted number on five different search engines.

Internet searches are, of course, not perfect, the guy could have moved to Arizona recently and the phone number listing could just be missing.

Smart move to have him checked out!
