Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
That episode aired a week or two ago. They buy an old 50's/60's era hot rod of a '31 Model A five window coupe, fix it up and then try to sell it at auction.

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
That was an entirely different episode. Coming up next week he will be tinkering with his dads Model A that looks like a beautifully restored original. I didn't get enough of a look to tell exactly what it was but I think his dad had a 1930 fordor?

And it was flat ugly. That Rod may have won an award in the 60's, but that grill is something only a blind mother could love. Olds engine??

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
His father did some really top quality restorations 50 or so years ago. His cars were highly regarded. My father and his father were buddies in the club.

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
If the ad on Velocity that is currently running that shows Wayne looking at a
Model A is the preview of next weeks show, it ain't no hot rod! I only hope that it is the one in the ad! I like Wayne, but Model A's are really not his specialty. We shall see. Jack

EPISODE 11: What Comes Around Goes Around – premieres 12/6 at 10PM on Velocity Channel
While prepping a Model A restored by Wayne’s father for the Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival & Concours d’Elegance, a client gives Wayne an opportunity to sell a 1955 Thunderbird and his prize 1950 XK120 Alloy Bodied Jaguar, one of only 240 ever made. |

The show will be mainly about the Jag, the Model A just happens to be there

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
It was a '30 Fordor (no idea if it was a fordor or a town sedan but whatever).
Spent a few minutes talking about the car and his father and the owner. Was pretty cool. I think it is nice to see that even when they show cars selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars that the Model A still gets attention. Also, more than perhaps any episode of this show that I have seen, they comment on the human aspect of the car hobby. The car as the uniter. I thought that was pretty cool. -Tim |

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
There were two episodes aired last night. The first aired at 10:00 pm eastern. That had the 30 Fordor but was mostly about the T Bird and Jag as Perfdavid said. The following episode had the Butt ugly coupe.

The Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival is aspecial treat, a real site to see. It is for a great cause too, that is why they get a great variety of motor cars!

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
Boys are camera shy maybe!
Here is a picture of an 400-A Bob Carini restored in 1955. It has rare louvered hood doors Does anyone know where this car is today? This car was later sold to Esther Larson (capt Paul Museum) Picture taken at Princeton Hill Climb June 1955. .. |

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
When I watched the segment I noticed that the other guy there supported the hood with the cowl lights. I never seen anyone in the two clubs here in Oklahoma City do that. Not only possibly scratching the paint but the cowl lights as well. With that nice of a car 20 dollars for hood support seems kind of cheap.

Re: Chasing Classic Cars update
The Klingberg show with the nice 1930 A is repeated twice Thursday night.
I am going to review where he parks that hood. It bothered me big time when the owner parked its edge somewhere unusual. |
