Hey ,we are going back in time ,Cad to zinc,much better and no chrome ,how about nickel plating as original?

I wonder if being water based means that the metal underneath will eventually start rusting. Or if there is an oil based primer put on first.

Look up water based paints.

I believe they are still only doing base coat in water base.

The clear coat is currently your normal urethane clear. As I remember reading they are not at being able to do a water based top coat.

Do not fear it, it does work from what I have read. They had problems at first, but they are being overcome.

I rent out a little shop to a bodyman who has used quite a bit of it.In the dealership he worked at some of the paint needed to match was only available in waterborne.He figured he would have to get used to it,he did,he said it is just a change.No better or worse to work with.I think the key word here is waterBORNE,not waterBASED.The water part just replaces the nasty solvents that evaporate off,so that water is what evaporates instead.Myself,I'll be sticking with the nasty stuff unless somebody gives me some other stuff for free.
