Re: Great deal on E-Bay!!!
It would be a great deal if it was painted correctly. By the time you repainted it not that great of deal.

I like the color combination, but with side mounts it cries out for cowl lamps!

Re: Great deal on E-Bay!!!
Why do A's in light paint jobs look so weird? I guess we are so black/crimson/blue/green oriented. But then again, who but Edsel would have painted my Cabrio Yellow/Brown/Black with Orange pin stripes??

the rusty water stains on top the engine would make me curious. is water blowing out around a head stud? maybe a so-so deal, maybe a money pit; but clearly not what I'd call a "Great deal". that first bid smells like a shill. |

pretty car, even if not correctly painted.
Too bad they couldn't be bothered to push it out side for pics... |

Re: Great deal on E-Bay!!!
If you look at the bid information for the first bidder you'll see that he's currently bidding on 16 different items, all from different sellers, so it's hard to picture shill bids happening unless I'm missing something.

Re: Great deal on E-Bay!!!
In the MG world that color combination is called "Cream Crackers" variant. If it had the moldings painted and a pinstripe that might be better. I'd paint the wheels dark first - get rid of the whitewalls, then do the moldings and then drive it. I've seen a lot worse colors.

Re: Great deal on E-Bay!!!
The chocolate fenders and visor "bother" me more than anything else, but hey - it's only paint... not like it's been chopped / channeled / tubbed /subbed / 350'd / tucked / rolled / frenched / louvered / etc...
If the price is too high, it'll come down.. |
