That episode aired a week or two ago. They buy an old 50's/60's era hot rod of a '31 Model A five window coupe, fix it up and then try to sell it at auction.

That was an entirely different episode. Coming up next week he will be tinkering with his dads Model A that looks like a beautifully restored original. I didn't get enough of a look to tell exactly what it was but I think his dad had a 1930 fordor?

And it was flat ugly. That Rod may have won an award in the 60's, but that grill is something only a blind mother could love. Olds engine??

His father did some really top quality restorations 50 or so years ago. His cars were highly regarded. My father and his father were buddies in the club.

Didn't Wayne's father restore the '29 Town Cars in the Captain Paul House collection? If so the restoration still looks great.

If the ad on Velocity that is currently running that shows Wayne looking at a
Model A is the preview of next weeks show, it ain't no hot rod! I only hope that
it is the one in the ad! I like Wayne, but Model A's are really not his specialty.
We shall see.

EPISODE 11: What Comes Around Goes Around – premieres 12/6 at 10PM on Velocity Channel
While prepping a Model A restored by Wayne’s father for the Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival & Concours d’Elegance, a client gives Wayne an opportunity to sell a 1955 Thunderbird and his prize 1950 XK120 Alloy Bodied Jaguar, one of only 240 ever made.

The show will be mainly about the Jag, the Model A just happens to be there

It was a '30 Fordor (no idea if it was a fordor or a town sedan but whatever).

Spent a few minutes talking about the car and his father and the owner. Was pretty cool. I think it is nice to see that even when they show cars selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars that the Model A still gets attention. Also, more than perhaps any episode of this show that I have seen, they comment on the human aspect of the car hobby. The car as the uniter. I thought that was pretty cool.

There were two episodes aired last night. The first aired at 10:00 pm eastern. That had the 30 Fordor but was mostly about the T Bird and Jag as Perfdavid said. The following episode had the Butt ugly coupe.

The Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Festival is aspecial treat, a real site to see. It is for a great cause too, that is why they get a great variety of motor cars!

The fellow was quite surprised, but replied yes...I am...how did you know?

I was aware that a fellow named Bob Carini restored a Town Car. The work was done somewhat local...so it did not take much to connect the dots.

Not long after the show, I was able to purchase the Town Car that Bob restored.

In August of 2006 I contacted Bob and inquired if he was planning on attending the local show again the following month. I also mentioned that I was planning on taking the 1930 Town Car that he restored. He promptly replied, I'll be there.

The following month, not only did Bob show up at the local show, but the Granddaughter and her two young boys for whom Bob restored the Town Car in the late 1950s also coincidentally were also in attendance.

While standing near the 1930 Town Car, I overheard the young lady metion to her husband that her Grandmother had a car "just like this one." I did not pay too much attention as lots of people say that, even if their Grandmother had a 1935 Buick. This time, however, it was true. In this instance, the car was not "just like her Grandmother's car"....it was her Grandmother's car.

I spent some time speaking with both Bob and the Granddaughter. I was able to ask Bob many questions about the condition of the car before it was restored. I also asked about the color. He mentioned that the car was originally black, and he painted it "Town Car Blue" which turned out to be a dark blue with some hint of green color concoction that appealed to him.

As for the history of the car, the Granddaughter mentioned that she remembered that her cousins traveled to Long Island to pick up the car and drove it home to Westport, Connecticut.

Pictured below is Bob Carini with the Granddaughter and her two young boys in September of 2006, with the 1930 Town Car in the background.

Gee the young boy's in the photo look like they are having a great old time.

Boys are camera shy maybe!

Here is a picture of an 400-A Bob Carini restored in 1955.

It has rare louvered hood doors

Does anyone know where this car is today?

This car was later sold to Esther Larson (capt Paul Museum)

Picture taken at Princeton Hill Climb June 1955.

When I watched the segment I noticed that the other guy there supported the hood with the cowl lights. I never seen anyone in the two clubs here in Oklahoma City do that. Not only possibly scratching the paint but the cowl lights as well. With that nice of a car 20 dollars for hood support seems kind of cheap.

The Klingberg show with the nice 1930 A is repeated twice Thursday night.
I am going to review where he parks that hood.
It bothered me big time when the owner parked its edge somewhere unusual.
