Horn Rod
My light switch has been rotating with the wheel for a few years now and I haven't fixed it because I didn't need to drive at night. I've decided to fix it all and discovered the the rod just under the switch disc and lever is not round (see picture). A friend said he would see if he could chuck it in his lathe and turn it round to match the rod diameter.
Have others found this problem? |

Re: Horn Rod
I can't answer your question about the light rod being round but usually the reason the light switch turns with the steering wheel is because the bushing is missing. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...7840&cat=41749

Re: Horn Rod
Or the rod is bent. Sight down the shaft. If it's bent, it is very difficult to straighten. That spot looks like it can be dressed with a file.

Re: Horn Rod
I Just looked at two of my spare light rods - there should be a bushing on the bottom and mine are not round. If you try to make it round you might cut into the rod and weaken the rod to a point that the handle end will come off.
