Front and rear Hubs
I have a 1928 model A. I have an issue with a few studs on one rear tire and one front tire. I was recently able to obtain 2 hubs. one rear and one front.
The qustion I have is that both hubs have studs already swedged in them. they are both in really great shape. I was also able to get a rear drum without studs. So, no issues there I don't think. Can I use these? Is there anything I need when I put these two together. Thank you for any help.. # Woroutstuds. |

Re: Front and rear Hubs
I'm not sure what your question is. If your 'new' hubs have all 5 studs swedged in place, use them. Don't over torque, 60 lbs is very adequate.

Re: Front and rear Hubs
The hub has the studs yes wedged. The old one the studs were attached to the drum. It has 40 written on it. So not sure if it’s ok to use on the 28. It looks like it will work. Just not sure difference between studs/ swedges on drum or studs being on hub.

Re: Front and rear Hubs
The hubs and drums are swedged together. They are not separable.
The early 28 cars had different hubs and wheels and the later hubs and wheels cannot be used interchangeably. See the Service Bulletins for details. You will have to know which kind you have.
