Will a ‘29 windshield fit a ‘31?

Re: Windshields
There are differences in years and body styles
But basically a closed car frame will interchange but you may have to do some re~drilling at the header |

Re: Windshields
My concern is that it will fit correctly between the stanchions and the bottom follows the correct curvature of the frame. Thank you all for your knowledge.

Re: Windshields
To answer your question, if you change the little slide arm brackets to the 1930-1931 style brackets and get a 1930-1931 hinge, it will work just fine.

Re: Windshields
The slant window cars take a shorter frame.

Re: Windshields
A picture of the lower inner corners identifies the year by the profile of the deflector. Overall
Dimensions are the same between the years on the closed cab cars. Except for the slant window cars of 1931. Personally I would try and make a trade for a good, sound 30-31 standard frame. The several frames I have installed glass in were not pinholes in the glass channel, except one of the 4. Rust is not your friend. |
