Removing mold from leather upholstery
I took my 40Merc out for winter gas today. She is kept in an ac/heated garage and covered. Very little driving this summer. I noticed light green mold blotches on the rear seat every where. None on the front seat . Years ago I had a horse person tell me Horseman's one step is the best for leather. She also said the Lexol rots the stitches.
Recommendations, please. I'm crying... Happy Thanksgiving Clem |

Re: Removing mold from leather upholstery
I've had great success using a water/vinegar solution to get rid of mould on leather. I replaced a seat on my OT German car due to a rip in the leather. Got a replacement for cheap because of some mold. Tried the water/vinegar trick and it came out looking like new. Then a good quality leather soap...

Re: Removing mold from leather upholstery
The water vinegar works well on wood and plastic, I have not tried it on leather.

Re: Removing mold from leather upholstery
After watching a show where the detailer cleaned up a 38 Aston Martin that was found in barn original with”Elephant Butter “. I have some ordered but have yet to use it myself.

Re: Removing mold from leather upholstery
I had the same problem once in the shop where I keep my '32. I used Neatsfoot Oil to rub the leather down with. This took care of the mold. I have since put a dehumidifier in the shop and the mold is no longer an issue.
