Default 6v LED Bulbs - Where to buy?

Folks,

Where can one obtain 6v LED bulbs for rear tail lights on a '48 pickup? I cant seem to find any posts here relating to it. Also is one required to change the signal unit when using LED bulbs? Thanks.

Got mine from Amazon. Yes, you will need to change the flasher.

Here is where I bought mine. Good service no problems. Read the description very well so you order the correct color. Yes you will need to change the flasher, they sell them.

Don't you need to be sure to get the ones that's not polarity sensitive?

Exactamundo to the whole posting. Been there tried all of the above. White gloss paint did the trick. Not to worry.

Yes! LED's are polarity sensitive, so you need to select ones that are stated 'universal' or for ones that are for positive earth (if that's what you have).

You need to consider your flasher can as well as some rely on current draw to operate. LED's draw so little current some flasher cans are not compatible without load resistors in the lamp circuit.

Dan, thanks for posting the link to ledlight.com. Turns out they are just up the road from me in Phoenix AZ. Ordered up the 6 volt, pos. ground replacements for my 1154 combination tail light and parking light bulbs. These led bulbs are the same bulbs that fit my separate rear mounted directional signal lights. (Didn't need a new flasher unit, but ordered one anyway, just in case.)

I had an issue with the new led's working in my right side light assembly and the replacement is on back order everywhere. (the led bulb wouldn't engage the socket tight enough to make the connection because my socket was worn.) Found an old assembly in my parts closet I had replaced that had a better socket and bingo, we've got brighter brake lights, parking lights, and rear directional signals!!
