Does any one have a good method to bend the repro aluminum trim that covers the nails on the tack strip

I made a jig out of wood gently heated it with a hand held propane torch. aluminum goes
soft real quick. Tried to cold bend it. Just made a mess.

Read that the secret is to put a tight fitting piece of copper wire (solid ground wire, not stranded) in the groove to keep it from collapsing and deforming the bend.

I had a man bend mine a few years ago when I put the new top on. I think he was in California. He did a great job. Does anyone have his contact information?

Hi from Oregon; Local V8ers used a wooden pattern for the curve and some gentle torch heat. the curve was routed in a piece of wood for the pattern, heat from a propane type torch. There was another post on this subject. Newc

Thanks for the ideas. I am assuming the trim overlaps a little on to the metal roof to cover the seam between the vinyl and t he metal roof
