Default Another one shipping ARDUN 8BA with sound

Sending another completed engine on its way. This one is another of my 200 MPH capable builds. Foundation is a 1950 8BA block. Crankshaft HP more than 550 from 292 cubes torque over 500 Foot pounds.

Nice looking engine! That’s a lot of power out of a flathead!
Electric coolant pumps used on this one?

Way OT, I know but, had Zora wound up at Ford, we would still have a continuous production, two seater T-Bird!

…...and one that would handle, and could get out of it's own way. Maybe EVEN with mid-engine by the time 2020 rolls-around? Your point IS interesting, though! DD

Yes, T-Bird went the way of the dodo bird.
Sadly Ford got it on the wrong flight path into the Bermuda Triangle.
Maybe someday, they'll salvage it.

Well, they did try to salvage it, in 2002, as I remember. A one or two year effort. It wasn't pretty, it vaguely looked like a '55 Bird but, I was hoping it would go on to be a competitor to the Corvette. NOT TO BE!!

Ford did, have the mid engined GT40, in the '60's but, it wasn't a real production car and was spawned by Lola, in the UK. They do have the new GT40 but, even though you can buy them, you can't afford them!!!!! Same with the first GT40.

In regard to the question of cost I have a customer that just had H&H build him an Ardun and while he wasn't specific he said the cost was in the range of 30,000?

Heres a video you will hear this ARDUN running to 200 MPH in a distance of 1-1/2 miles
turn up the volume. As to the cost a whole lot.

Ronnie thanks for the post. I put this one into the exclusive "flathead porn" category. (Accepting the valve conundrum being exposed.)

More sir?... More pics please?

Since I have one of Zora's GM toys (57 FI) I am glad he ended up over at GM. Nice poster Dick!
Wish I had deep pockets, I would love to have an Ardun in my avatar. I guess I could if I parted with a few cars but I don't want to do that. I drove a friend's car with one that had Webers on it and it would tach up like a well built sbc. Like Dick said, it can no longer be called a "flathead".

A treat that can't be beat.

I'm surprised at $30K cost. Thought it would be higher.

Yeah, last time I considered buying the heads Orosaco made, the heads themselves and all hardware (rockers etc) were about 30k.

Ron, Nice ride! Thanks for that.
Are there any pictures or videos of the car from the outside?
Does he use a "chute" to help stopping?

Heres the ARDUN in the roadster everyone was able to ride along in. The Scottys Muffler service roadster is a pretty historic car which continues to set records. My son and I helped the owner Tom updated the car so is legal to run once again a parachute is used to stop after the run.

Dang. Hearing the Scotty's roadster in person was such a treat. I'm saving my pennies and dimes to one day have a full race, Ronnie Roadster-prepped Ardun motor in our '32 Tudor.
A boy can dream....
