1931 Victoria Door Hinge Mirror
I want to put an outside mirror on my Victoria. These cars use an oversized hinge pin (0.279). Does anyone have a source for these oversized pins in SST that are longer to accommodate a mirror? I have purchased the mirror but the hinge pins that come with it are too small. Also, has anyone drilled out the bracket on the mirrors to receive the larger diameter pins? Is there enough metal in the bracket for the larger pin? Thanks for your help, ED

Ed
I use 32 oversize stainless pins. they are longer then the Victoria. I also turn the end of the pin down and put a 1/4" acorn nut on the bottom |

I bought a set of outside mirrors from Berts. Steve sends the pins you need for a Vic. The mirrors will need to have the hinge mounting hole enlarged to accept the slightly bigger pin.

Re: 1931 Victoria Door Hinge Mirror
On my Victoria, the pin holes have been drilled to 0.31" diameter and roll pins installed in the lower door hinges. Being springs, roll pins accommodate stock and oversize holes nicely. I cut the heads off of the stock hinge pins leaving about 0.13" of the pin under each head. The heads are secured in place with JB Weld.
External mirrors are attached to the upper hinge on each door. The hinge pin holes in both door hinges and mirrors were opened to 0.31" diameter. In lieu of hinge pins, I use 0.312 hex head bolts, and capped the heads and nuts with chrome acorn covers. Holes in each door hinge were drilled & tapped to accommodate the set screws of each mirror. This setup works very well, and its neat looking.
