6V jumper pack
Well This past Sunday was a rainy day up here in the northeast. Never letting a day go by without accomplishing anything, I decided to build a jumper pack for 6Volt. I have four 6v cars and on occasion a 6v jump is needed. Also nice security when on the road is something goes wrong I can at least try to get to a safe port. Using a Optima 6 Volt battery (expensive) but worth the price in my view I get about ten years out of them. I built this box carrier, it's safe to carry around in you vehicle and give plenty of cranking amps for a jump start. Used some scrap plywood and a one " dowel. Found a can of red paint to top it off. I had a few old 12v packs so I cut off the wires and used two battery post connectors (cheap). I'm thinking to share this as it may be of interest to others. It took about one hour to put together. there is one screw holding the dowel in place should you desire to remove the battery. Just remove the screw push the dowel aside and you can just pop out the battery.

Re: 6V jumper pack
Good idea. Could you have used a 12V battery and "tapped it" for 6V?

Re: 6V jumper pack
The only way you could do this with 12v is to have two six volt batteries and connect them is series for 12V , use a knife switch to open the circuit to one battery for the use of 6V. a bit more pricey. two 6V optima batteries will cost in the $350.00 range. You can buy a 12V jumper pack for around $75.00.
