Geez. I'm a hot rodder/customizer at heart, and by profession. But, the more modified cars I see, the more I appreciate a stock car. Some peoples only taste is in their mouth.

I quite like it.

The style and stance, not the colour nor the roof.

I reckon this would be exactly what a retro new model A would look like.

Look at the PT chrysler and the mini and the fiat 500 etc.

yea theres alot of those people out there who have more money than brain cells...i always prefer an original driver, or stock restored car over a hot rod any day. I dont mind period correct speed parts though. Its the cookie cutter Chevy 350 engine 350 trans ford 9" rear end with a 80's gm steering column combo I see slapped in everything and it gets old. Where's the rare or imaginative creative ideas?

Wow, no one mentioned the headlight bar either. That is a fairly rare piece.

The rest is just pieces. While this car does not do anything for me, if the owner uses it and enjoys it, then maybe it is ok. Just realize, I am not seeing anything about this car that would ever keep it from being returned to a restored Roadster. Much easier to fix this one than a chopped Coupe.

Not my cup of tea but it's not my car. I'm sure the owner loves it and that is what it's all about. More power to him/her. I hear a lot of people diss the 350/350 swap as 'just like everyone else' on hot rod sites but find it odd to hear it here where, pretty much every car runs the stock "cookie cutter" drivetrain. How is it that THAT isn't "getting old"?. The only thing that tends to bother me is when someone buys a very solid survivour or even a well restored car and proceeds to make a "rat rod" out of it. IMO there are plenty of cars in the bush and farmers fields for that but still, you buy it, your free to do as you please. None of this hobby should be about pleasing or impressing others. It's what makes YOU happy. Here's a little story that is relevant to this thread. I also am on a muzzleloader builders forum. One day, someone finds a pic on line of a "fantasy" rifle that someone has built. It's irked most of the purists on the site and, much like this thread, elicited a flurry of negative remarks. I decided to try something so I posted that, they should direct their comments directly to the builder as he was a member of the forum. You should have seen the apologies and backpedaling. I git a PM from a moderator (who also had dissed the rifle) asking for the forum moniker of the maker so he could personally apologize. I told him I had no idea who made the rifle , was just making a point. He got the point. Just sayin'

Bill, post #11: "I LIKE IT!--Should have been BLACK, though."
-------------------------

As a 'Hot Rod', I must say, although modern and not '40s, '50s retro., I DO like it ! But painted all black would have been my color choice.

And it DOES remind me of my air-cooled '69 Volkswagen.

I was thinking it might be glass, but wasn't sure. I did notice the rare light bar though and wondered how that went to use with a bunch of repro parts.
Wonder if any other rare parts are being used?

How many of us took a running Model A and made it into something else in the past? Here is what became of a complete and running Fordor that was driven home in 1953 for $50. Do I wish I had it as found? Sure I do! This photo is from the Pismo dunes in 1956 after the V8 replaced the banger. We made it UP Devil's Slide after a good rain firmed up the sand. Mission accomplished, and before paddle tires!
I know some hate this.......If'n you can't say something nice, don't say anything. Many don't like my roadster 'cuz it is B powered, has overdrive, safety belts, etc. I enjoy it the way it is and couldn't care less what others think. My hope is that a new owner will enjoy this roadster and ignore those that dish it. Russ

As many of you know, auto manufacturers have 'proto-type' cars with a forward looking design often referred to as 'concept cars'. As is evidenced by the unique headlite bar, this car is obviously an early (probably july - August 1927) proto-type concept car of the Ford Motor Company.

Also, as most of you know, once in production the 'finished product' never looks like the 'concept car'. Some concept-car designs never go into production for various reasons. For example in 1934 when Henry Ford designed his rear-engined air-flow concept car, it never went into production - by Ford that is.

However, when Ferdinand Porsche visited the Ford Factory in 1934 as Henry's personal guest, Henry gave Ferdinand all of his engineering and design work for what was to become the ubiquitous air-cooled Volks-Wagen, going into production in 1938.

So it is not too far fetched to understand that the rare Ford Model A proto-type concept car shown in post #1 is really something we should all admire.

I know it is true . . . . . . I saw it on the internet . . . . .

Wow, what a tough audience. I doubt if the tiniest part of an original Model A was used/ruined in building this car. I like it but would like it more if it were vermilion. What a knockout that would be.

Well the workmanship is good but they have no eye for design. I'm biased if your going to build a rod build a traditional with a flathead no fenders on deuce rails that would have been much easier looked better and worth more.
