Ketron, welcome to the Fordbarn! That is a very nice '36 Ford Deluxe Tudor Touring Sedan! It does my heart good to see someone your age come along and rescue this nice Early Ford V-8. There are plenty of us here just waiting to help you out on this one.

What a great car! It reminds me of a '36 tudor I was able to purchase in 1960. It was about in the same shape as yours (39,000 miles) and was fully equipped (including a radio and clock mirror). The only differences are that mine was a "flatback" and a different color. I was amazed to find such a nice original car when it was 24 years old; to be able to find one this nice after 84 years is simply unbelievable.

I let mine go and will forever regret it. Hold on to this one and it will give you a lifetime of pleasure.

You should consider joining the Early Ford V-8 Club. The magazine is worth the cost alone..
You can join at efv8.org
Thanks. I recently became a registered member of the Ford V-8 Club. Its great to find another enthusiast my age. We should network, would like to see your car and discuss early Fords. By the way, would you happen to be selling early ford parts on eBay, your user name and location look familiar. I recently purchased several 1936 parts from you if so.

I just saw the interior photos, looks like it is in fantastic shape. Also looks like it had a hot air heater installed at one time.
RalphM,

Thanks for the comments. The paint is the original paint. The green pin stripe was faded and touched up 2 years ago upon removal from storage. I too feel the cars should take little work to get roadworthy again. Upon delivery to my house, I did take the car around the block on two occasions to see where I was mechanically. Car needs work before it hits the road in a safe and reliable way. Plenty of questions and updates to come!

corvette8n,

Thank you. I purchased the book you mentioned last week and have been reading daily. I am about half way thru the book. Great information regarding 1935/1936 year Ford. Looking forward to learning more.

Thanks,
Jon

I see you did in fact join the Early Ford V8 Club. Wise choice

I'm willing to bet you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the club's '35 - '36 restoration manual.
Don Rogers is the clubs guru for all things '35 - '36. A great fellow you should someday meet or at the very least correspond with.
Mike,

Thank you for your comments. The club's 35-36 reading has been coming along well. Learning more every day with this great book. I would like to speak to Don once I get a better grasp on this car. Would be very neat to have a discussion with him regarding the 1936 year. I hope to attend several of the clubs meets once the virus subsides.

Zeke3,

Thank you. A trip to the Early Ford V-8 Foundation in Auburn IN is indeed on my list of things to do. I want to take the trip in this car to that museum, would be a great tribute to the car. I have heard the collection of 1936 Fords there are fabulous.

slowforty, B-O-B, petehoovie, KiWinUS, RKS.PA, thank you for the welcome and comments.

KiWinUS, I am not a farmer, although I did purchase this car within a farming community north of Columbus/Dayton OH. It was beautiful country, this old Ford fit in perfect within that little community.

Welcome.....Great Car!!!......but I want to congratulate the previous owner on finding someone who feels like you do about preserving that car as it is. He obviously cared very much about that car and is fortunate to find someone with your enthusiasm!......Mark

Thanks Mark, I appreciate the comments. Looking forward to becoming the car's caretaker for years to come.

Jon, yes, Michael Driskell and his wife Jane are known as "Third Generation Automotive", and do a great job of keeping many of us in this hobby supplied with early Ford V-8 parts for our vehicles, and they are top notch folks to deal with.
