Wide Five Wheels with Chrome Centers?

Hi all.

I saw these wheels listed as very rare early 1936 Ford wide five wheels with chrome centers. I know that Ford sold spider caps to dress up the wheels, but has anyone ever seen factory chromed centers on wide five wheels? Thought these would merit some discussion.

Closeups look more like caps over aluminum-painted centers to me. Another fake-factory production. 8^) Jack E/NJ

If they are chromed, they could have been removed from wheel, chromed, and reinstalled.

Just a thought.

See if the rivets holding the center chrome section to the rim look different than a sad set .
I like them .
