Re: Engine blocks to be magnafluxed
Is it possible to stich the cracks from the cylinder to the valve seat? Is this a reasonable repair?
From what I have read on this site it seems that the water jacket cracks are repairable with stiching or jb weld. Would like to hear from some of the experts on what the specific criteria is when it should be repaired or junked. Thanks |

Re: Engine blocks to be magnafluxed
That would depend on what you consider repairable I have a welding shop and have repaired unrepairable blocks before. I preheat them and tig weld silicon bronze on outside repairs and different types of nickle and / or stainless to inside the valves or combustion area. you might think about this before you junk it especially if it has a small or stock bore.
