Default No nuts

just took the t truck for a spin and while i have to admit since aquiring my model a the t doesnt get much road time. It started easy enough and in low gear ran well. The problem began when i threw the lever forward. It seemed like the clutch worked as it should, but i just didnt have any power.....certainly not enough to pull a hill. It performed the same on both mag and battery. Then when going back to low it seemed to run fine. Any ideas. Also...are there any ford barn guys near newark ohio. I could really use some expertise for an hour or so. Im pretty much self taught and if it wasnt for this forum i"d be in trouble.
Thanks Rob

Are you advancing the timing all the way. Did the timer rod come off? On a flat stretch did you try adjusting the carb? ws

You may have a band to tight. Try backing off the low band 1/2 turn and see if it does better.

did you have it apart? sounds like the cam may be retarded one tooth. thatll give you gobs of bottom end torque but nothing on the top. its either that or fuel starvation. cap vent open?? ws

rob63mess,
I had a similar issue with my 1925 TT truck. Turned out that it was the two of the coils boxes were weak. Replaced them and put new plugs in and had lots of power.

Paul

success.....i changed the coil box.....the insulators were cracked and the wiring harness had a couple burnt places on it....so i changed that as well....seems to have done the trick.

rob63mess,
Glad it worked out for you! Don't give up on the T's. They need a little TLC once in awhile, but what a pleasure they are!
Regards,
Paul
