FS electronic ignition
Is FS electronic ignition worth it on a Model A? I have 2 Model A's, one with FS and the other with modern point set up. I can't tell the difference between them both other than FS cost a whole lot more...What is your opinion? Experience?

Re: FS electronic ignition
Properly restored original has been bulletproof, havn't done anything but clean, adjust points for over 35 years
The original model A "reliability" is different from a modern car, the model a when it breaks down can usually be fixed along side the road, modern cars need to be towed to a shop, yes many times they go further without problems, but it is rare that they are fixed along side the road, when adding modern "improvements" you can end up with an old car that needs to be towed to a shop when it breaks down ---one of the solutions is to carry spare---either the parts to fix it, or original system The electronic system will want good battery voltage, the points don't care as much |
