Question Model T hood repair Hinges

Has anyone attempted to repair the hinge mechanism(s) on a 1926 Roadster? The sheet metal is prone to tearing at the hinges and I am attempting to redo this but looking for advice in the meantime.

Do you need a repair or a restoration? Id personally take a cut off wheel and remove all the old hinge folds, and then fasten a length of chrome plated piano hinge in its place.
Put the two halves on the car into position for marking. Mine was cracked only at both ends, so I pop riveted a piece of sheet metal over (under) the area... maybe 1" x 1". My hoods' a POS tho with no sides... ws

I have done a few where I use a combination of TIG welding and strategic metal replacement where it needs it. I restore as much of the original metal as possible. They look new afterwards and have lasted for years.
Best,
Paul

Look a little closer at mine and you can see where the frozen hinge has flexed the material for the last 50 years... its ready to go anyway. ws
