Default dual side mounts on a 29 two door

Has anyone ever seen factory side mounts on a 29 two door sedan? I have a friend that has very nice unrestored sedan and it has dual side mounts with riveted brackets.

No I haven't, but I'm sure there are some of those animals that were created and may still be around. Supposedly only the factory rivited
the spare wheel carrier rod supports on the frame. While the dealers would bolt on the frame brackets. My '29 has dual sidemounts with the
rod supports rivited to the frame by the restorer. The car did not orginially have sidemounts. So I'm sure a dealer could have rivited the
frame brackets on. Back "in the day" instead of using nuts and bolts if he so desired. Jus' my .02 worth......

There were some dual sidemount cars done for shows [ Oct 1929 Ford Auto Show, SF. Cal], a Phaeton & Sport Roadster. I think the Phaeton [ ''Dual Cowl] is still around.
A single side mount would have been usually supplied. Tires were expensive in the Model A era.

Dealers had the ability to rivet as well and a customer that wanted such things i'm sure was accommodated.

This was an ad Placed in the Seattle Times in Late September 1929 by my Grandfather Taking care of his Father's Estate ,(MY great grand fathers New 1929 Town Sedan. Notice in the ad that it says Fender Wells. I get a kick out of the fact that it had a $100.00 worth of options.I know it's not a Tudor , but it's a 1929.

I would say that the ad is about the best you can get to show the extra side mount was an option. A dealer window sticker would trump the ad but don't know it they had window stickers back then. That is really a neat historical document. Now if you could trace it to the car today........
